Dichroic Glass Jewelry..
Joan Jewels was my first website.  It was for showing my fused dichroic glass jewelry.  When I saw dichroic glass, I was amazed by the ability it has
to reflect and transmit light.  I would see a different color depending on the light and angle I was holding the piece of dichroic glass.  Absolutely
magical glass.

I HAD to learn how to fuse this glass, so I saw a glass artist on television and thought I could do that.  I bought a kiln and read everything about
fusing glass I could get my hands on.  I haven't had formal training.  I am a self taught glass artist.  Now I can't stop fusing dichroic glass and
creating unique art glass creations.  I absolutely love glass and have loved it since I was little.

While working with fusing dichroic glass jewelry, I wanted to take it to the next level and thought of fused dichroic glass tiles, dichroic glass knobs
and pulls, as well as vases, dishes, and more.  That's when Uneek Glass Fusions was born.  Every art glass piece is Unique!

I only use the highest quality and compatibility tested fusing glass from the leading glass manufacturers. First, I create the design, cut the glass,
grind or saw the piece to the perfect form I desired.  Then I fuse the dichroic glass several times to create depth in the piece.  Sometimes I will fuse
the glass up to 1500 degrees in my studio glass kiln.  During the firing the glass is cooled very slowly (annealed) from the molten state to provide
strength and durability. Each firing takes 24 hours to complete. Then I might grind and fire polish the piece (back in the kiln another 24 hours) for
the exact smooth and polished finish.   Every morning is like Christmas when I retrieve my fired pieces.  What fun!!
